Also, soya is a great source of protein and when it is made at home, it becomes even more nutritious, so let's start.
How to make Malai Soya chap:
Serving size: 4 to 5 persons Preparation Time: 30 minutes Cooking time: 20 minutes Difficulty in making: Medium Meal Type: Vegetarian
Ingredients for Soya Chap:
Soya Chap: 800 grams Cashew: Soaked 100 grams Cream: 1 bowl (250 grams) Curd: 1 bowl (250 grams) Garam Masala Powder: Half a teaspoon Coarse black pepper: 1 teaspoon Green Chillies: 2 Coriander leaves: 100 grams Salt: as per taste Milk: Half a cup Ghee: 4 tablespoons Butter: 1 tablespoon Onions: 2 big onions Capsicum: 1 piece
Ingredients required to make yogurt chutney:
Curd: 2 tablespoons Green Chillies: 1 to 2 Mint leaves: 50 grams Coriander leaves: 100 grams Salt: as per taste
Method of preparation :
• First of all take out all the chaps out of the box and wash them. Then separate them from the stick. If you have dry chaps, first soak them in water for 5 to 6 hours as instructed, then take out their sticks, squeeze them and keep them aside. • Now to make marination, separate the soaked cashew nuts with water and grind them well with milk in a mixer and make a fine paste. • Take out cashew paste in a separate vessel and make a paste of coriander and green chillies in the same mixer. • Now prepare a smooth batter by adding cashew paste, coriander and green chilli paste, 250 grams curd, 250 grams cream, half a teaspoon garam masala powder, black pepper and salt to taste. • Now marinate all the chaps in this batter and keep it covered for half an hour. • After half an hour, heat up 2 spoons of ghee and 1 spoon of butter in a large pan. Do not use refined or any kind of oil here. If there is no butter then you can use only ghee. • Now put the marinated chaps in the pan one by one and cover the remaining gravy. We will use it later. • Reverse all the chaps and cook till it turns red. If a little bit of marination starts sticking in this process, do not panic, scratch it and keep aside. We can use it later. After all the chaps are cooked, take them out in a plate and cut them into small pieces with the help of knife or scissors. • Now add 2 spoons of ghee in a pan and fry onions after the ghee gets hot. When the onions are light golden, add the capsicum into it and cook them both only so that their rawness is gone. • Now mix the chopped chaps and the separated scraps and add the remaining marination on top. Now just cook it for another 5 minutes so that it comes to a slight boil. When you see this boil in the form of small bubbles, turn off the gas.
Method of preparation for curd chutney:
- For this, grind coriander, mint, green chilli and salt in a mixer and drain in a bowl.
- Now mix 2 spoons of yogurt in it. Do not grind the curd, just mix it with a spoon. Your market style chutney is ready.
